JOSE MANUEL VARELA

My life´s true calling is to create beauty around me. In one form or the other, I have strived to do this throughout my life.

I was born and raised in Madrid. I am an engineer by education, corporate executive by professional destiny. I have lived in Paris, Brussels, Miami, Houston, and Sao Paulo and travelled extensively around the globe. In 2011, I moved back to Madrid with my wife and two children to reconnect with my roots and establish our family base. This journey has made me who I am, and I´m still looking ahead with joy and excitement.

After a lifelong search for what I was really destined to do, I realized that my heart was truly happy, truly connected when I was painting. Creating new forms, textures and daring color combinations that I can share with the world gives me a sense of purpose and realization. I want to share my vision with you, and help you create that unique piece of art for a special corner of your home or your business that reflects who you are - that moves you personally and profoundly when you look at it.

My other passions - where I also get peace and inspiration - are walking in nature, getting lost along winding roads on my motorbike, writing stories and listening to all kinds of music. Ah! and of course, hanging out with our black Lab and loyal family member Nera, who teaches me the art of finding joy in the simplest of moments.
